What is a knit-along?
Knit-Alongs are usually held 90 minutes prior to our normal monthly meeting. A small group of interested knitters meets for two or three months to learn a technique or work on a project. Often, the group provides support to each other via e-mail or telephone.
Prior Knit-Along subjects have included fingerless gloves, Maggie’s Pretty Purple Purse, socks, double-knitting, modular knitting, Medrith Glover’s Circumnavigated Cardigan, Scrappy Socky Stripey Cardi for babies, Elizabeth Zimmermann’s Ribwarmer, and:
- February Lady Sweater
- Radiant Shawl
- Baby Surprise Sweater
- Crayon Box Sweater
- Sunny Dishcloth
- Nalu Mitts
- Sunburst Slingbag
If you have ideas for future Knit-Alongs, contact one of our Education VPs at education@gslkg.com (refer to “Guild KAL” in your subject line) or bring it up on our Ravelry group!
